We got wheels (and a roof)

After miles of travel and hours of crawling through and under motorhomes trying to find the home we will share for the next few years, we found one!  I wish I had gotten a shot of the incredibly crowded parking lot it had to be navigated out of in order for us to depart, but I was so worried we would never get it out I forgot to take a picture.  As we pulled out of the lot, it began to snow and I dreamed again of the sunny days and warm weather we hope to find in the near future.

I just hope this piece of equipment doesn’t turn out to be a greater mental challenge than either of us can overcome.  It took us 3 of the 4 hours riding home just to figure out how to turn on the FM radio.  We never did get the heat to work (it was in the low thirties outside and my toes were freezing).  My seat heater was also inoperative, but at least the massage part of my seat worked like a champ so I was very limber by the time we pulled in the drive at home.  We have a long list of things to fix and a HUGE book of instructions to read before we hit the road headed to Utah.  After all we went through just to make this purchase and with all we have before us to get ready to roll, I understand what puts the “tire(d)” in retirement!

PS – thanks to Dean and Terrie who gave us a ride up to get the RV, we definitely did not need the extra excitement of towing a car home on that first trip. Thanks to Weldon and Dean for helping Stormy with the heater problem today. With any luck by the time he gets the heat fixed, we will be headed toward warm weather and will never need it again.
