A amiably warm day, a gentle breeze, an azure sky and 4 vintage taildraggers gracefully lumbering down a runway whose silence is only gently disturbed by the heartbeat of four engines warming to the task of taking their cargo aloft. I can hardly imagine a more perfect Saturday morning – even better when you add a group of teenagers anxious to take their first flight (or second or third). That is the joy of flying with the teens from the UNC North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center Teen Camp. I am told that from the air, some kids saw the UNC Band practicing formations on the football field and others saw a coyote on the runway. From what I observed, pilots and passengers were thrilled to share a day of flight.
Can you tell from these happy faces?
No visit is complete without an interview with Sunny. Two time passenger in our little plane Terrell, graciously agreed to share his experience with me:
Love the interview…Thanks again for the opportunity to fly the friendly skies with the Sunny Weathers crew
You made the interview great – thanks so much for sharing your time with me!
