Southbound Weathers Sisters

My sister, Valerie agrees to co-pilot on my first adventure in the RV without Storm.  As a teenager, she joined Storm and me on tractor-trailer runs in the 1980s.  I guess she got her confidence in my big rig driving abilities from riding shotgun with me then.  I am sure grateful to have her with me now.  She is excellent at Google mapping things on the fly.  Her skills allow us to leave I-95 long before we get to Florida.  I appreciate the stress reduction associated with taking the less traveled roads.

Overnight at Blythe Island

For our first night’s stop, I take the easy way out and just pull into South of the Border.  We stay in the new section which has long and level sites – perfect!  We arrive early enough the next day to enjoy some of the sights inside Blythe Island Park.  Check out the video below for a quick report on our first two days on the road.

Even though the monorail is not a thrill ride, the nice man who operates the rail offers to let me hang on and dangle over the river!

Still working on the potty, but not worrying about it. I am in a beautiful place with friendly folks (many, many retired pilots – so awesome!!)
If you come south, put Blythe County on your itinerary for a couple of nights. What a gorgeous place!

Great video! You are so cute. I’m sure Charlie is getting a great chuckle over watching your antics. I’m thinking sometime in the not to distant future I can fly out to wherever you are and visit with you for a week or so. Take care!

I am sure he is getting a good laugh if at nothing other than watching me wrangle with this RV 🙂
It would be awesome to see you!! If my sister cannot ride from Florida to Arizona with me, I would love to have you ride along. It is so much better with company and I am sure we would have a blast!!
