Rainbow Terrace and Crystal Geyser

Crystal Geyser Trail
Crystal Geyser Trail

We sneak in one last ride with Leyman and crew before we leave Moab.  On this ride, we re-visit Rainbow Terrace.  Last year Storm struggled to get up onto the terrace due to a high wall climb where he needed more clearance to prevent severe Jeep underbody damage.  You can replay the video of that attempt by clicking here

With our new lift kit, this time he crawls over the wall like a tank crushing hedgerows advancing across a field of battle.  After cruising Rainbow Terrace, we blast into new and challenging territory by successfully attempting to follow the rugged Crystal Geyser Trail.

In the following video documenting the spicier parts of this ride, I did not edit out my goof-ups.  This way you get a taste of the patience required by Storm when he is helping me record a Sunny Weathers piece.  Since I do them all off the cuff and neither of us (least of all me) has any idea what I am going to say, his job can be difficult as you will see.

About Sunny Weathers

Pilot, motorcyclist and full time RVer. Follow me as I travel all over the US in my Country Coach RV volunteering, making new friends and pursuing a constant outdoor temperature between 70F and 80F. I'll share the fun and the tribulations and any great survival tricks I learn!

  1. You must be taping the other folks going up the trail., You guys are always LAST in the group. Have you had any transmission problems with the jeep yet?? It sure is getting a workout and I still think the folks that sell those things would love to get a story on it. 🙂 Might even get you a new one for nothing and a little gas money to boot. Thanks for sharing. GOD BLESSJDJim

At first we rode in the middle but once Storm got the hang of spotting for others, we rode at the back so everyone else did not have to walk as far for spotting. No transmission problems though Storm did change the fluid while we were in Moab. I fear that getting paid for having such fun is probably a fantasy, but even without $$, we are still having a blast.

Thanks for sharing this trip. We love how you’re using video from your camera and Go Pro; it really shows the difficulty of playing on these Utah rocks. So many times my camera doesn’t do it justice.A thumbs up for you and Stormy.
