Two weeks ago, an extraordinary event occurred at Johnston County Airport. The Heavy Iron finally arrived and we had the honor of seeing 2 award winning Cubs (2012 Best Cub at Oshkosh and 2 time winner at Sentimental Journey) on the jet ramp.
Then we had to endure a couple of weeks of cold and rain and every pilot that I know waiting for a chance to fly. An invitation to fly to Pik N Pig in Carthage on Saturday to help celebrate Bobby Cox’s 85th birthday turned out to be just the ticket. It was too dark inside to get good phone pictures, but believe me when I tell you that restaurant was packed with wall to wall pilots!
