Heading Down the Highway

I can almost hear the Topgun theme song in my head now.  “Heading down the highway listening to the engines roar!!”  That will be me and my fabulous friend Michele on Sunday morning when I point the RV west and begin our journey to Arizona.

We will be wheels on pavement as soon as the sun wakes up.  I fear that if I wait any later than that, the unpredictable and erratic Florida drivers will head for early church and make my left turn out of the Volunteer Village across a four lane highway an impossibility.

So delighted that Michele is riding shotgun with me on the trip west. Woooo Hoooo!!

Goodbye to my paddling and other volunteer friends around Crystal River.  I will miss you so much.  Thanks for making my visit here so special and full of aquatic fun!

“THANK YOU” to Steve for the instructive pre-flight video you let me record of you servicing the RV before I left Virginia.  You would be so proud of my battery servicing session!  Tires are at the proper inflation level, fluids appear normal.  Just a few more items to put away and Michelle and I will be ready to ride.

Family Visitations

Sure wish I had time to share all my recent adventures with you in a colorful Floridian tale, but I have so much to do in order to leave.  I am thrilled that some of my family members actually take me up on my tour guide offer and come down to visit me and explore Old Florida.  In between moving chores, I squeeze a few minutes from working to prepare these photos of recent visits and travels.  The captions tell the stories.  I have to get back to washing the RV!

There is no way I can completely express my gratitude to my many friends for their love and support.  You were always there for me and Storm and have continued to support me so wonderfully since he has gone.  I want you to know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all of you and hope to see you soon in my travels. Here is a list of my intended destinations this summer.  If you are going to be in or near any of these places and would like to hang out together for a bit, email me and I will share more details with you.

  • March: Benson, AZ
  • April – May: Moab, UT
  • May – Sept: Laramie, WY
  • Sept – Oct: Albuquerque, NM

  5. The picture of the writer’s amazing solid state keyboard/ printer combination and it must have rechargeable batteries. One small issue, it seems to require manual paper feed.
