A Different Type of Bird

This RC airfield has always been deserted when we passed it on Farm to Market Road 523 near our campsite.  Today we are lucky enough to find Steven out flexing his wings here.  While we watched, he put his electric Edge 540 through its paces.  Steven told us that while an electric RC plane has only about 5-6 minutes flying time per battery charge, with extra batteries he can have plenty of fun with this plane.  With no liquid fuel or oil required, this plane is cleaner to operate and less flammable than gas powered models.

Be sure to set your YouTube Video quality settings as shown on the right for best viewing of my report from the airfield!

  1. In looking at the way Steven flies, I think he should have purchased a helicopter.

Ha! I’ve been told that before. It was fun visiting with the Dawsongang yesterday.
Here’s another video of one of my gas planes. 30cc engine in a Laser airframe.
